Tis the season for a Halloween blog post! I don’t know about you but since season one of Scream Queens came to Netflix I have been literally obsessed. I love the Chanel’s fashion, the storyline, and the humour of the show. It’s literally filled with stuff that you would (hopefully) never hear people actually say but somehow its hilarious. I’m slowly catching up with season 2 but honestly I love it.
This is your guide to a spectacular Chanel-O-Ween.
So above we’ve got a photo of myself trying to look mean and intimidating and its clearly not working out. Apart from that there is also a little bit of outfit insight/inspiration. I didn’t take this outfit from a specific moment in the show, but more or less picked something that Chanel #3 would wear hence the earmuffs. I’m basically wearing a white lace crop top that kind of resembles a corset, pinky nude high waisted shorts (which I apologize for you not being able to fully see), and finally nude pumps. To accessorize I’m wearing earmuffs that I made and a pearl necklace. To add to your outfit I’d recommend a matching purse and some shopping bags or a (FAKE) knife.
I actually ended up making a better pair of earmuffs a few days after taking these photos and I was going to include a DIY until I realized it was sooo easy. All I did was buy earmuffs and a pair of statement earrings, though a necklace or bracelet will work too and glued it onto the earmuffs with a glue gun.
In terms of makeup, think pink. Or pinky nude. I’d definitely recommend using a high coverage foundation to achieve that flawless Chanel look. A pink smokey eye with eyeliner wings, contour/highlight, and a pink lip are all essentials to this look. Some of the products that I specifically used are the Naked Palette, Kat Von D’s liquid lipstick in the shade Lolita, and of course COCO Mademoiselle by Chanel.
Finally what’s Chanel-O-Ween without Scream Queens themed food? I know you’re probably thinking that the Chanels don’t really eat for all of season 1 but I threw together some foods that might work out:
When the girls did eat, they ate cotton balls. Let’s all take a moment to shudder in disgust. Instead of that, I swapped them out for marshmallows and dipped them in melted pink white chocolate. I made vanilla cupcakes and pink icing. Pro-tip: if you want the icing to be fluffy but have a finish similar to fondant, heat it over a double boiler to melt the frosting down and then mix in bits of marshmallows. After many attempts, I drew on the Chanel logo for the three Chanels. Finally I found some wine coolers at a local grocery store to try and match the ones they have in the show. If you’re under the legal drinking age wherever you live swap this out for some fruit punch or cranberry juice and it’ll look the same!
